Configuring NotesSQL

The NotesSQL ODBC driver is a available for download from the Notes SQL part of the Lotus website, you will also there a Samples Kit which contains more examples and more detailed developer information. Once you have downloaded the ODBC driver, you will need to install it as you would any other application.

Once you have this installed on your computer, then you will need to register your Notes.ini file with the Notes SQL Adminisative Tool - which can be found Start, Programs, Lotus Applications, NotesSQL. Then simply follow the onscreen instructions to register the users and servers. Finally on the server side, we need to create an standard ODBC connection as per normal to the correct Lotus Notes datasource, for this tutorial we will call our ODBC connection LN.

Now that we have the NotesSQL drive installed, we need to create a view for us to select data from using this driver.
