I am a graduate from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth with a BSc(Hons) degree in Computer Science. My dissertation was in Internet-Database Connectivity with a report on the different approaches and a Search Engine with an Admin client using Perl, HTML and Javascript. I am currently re-working this project to convert it to a platform independent approach, updating and adding functionality.
Over the years I believe that I have acquired many skills which are assets to my role. My experiences of Chess - as a player, a coach and a manager - have assisted with my thinking, problem solving and planning.
Probably the most important thing I've done was to spend my Year Out from University in Brussels, Belgium, working for the European Foundation Centre. Having not only to work, but also to live in such a diverse and multicultural area where English is not the first language really helped me develop. This also significantly improved my ability to work with and understand people form different cultural backgrounds and improved my language and communication skills significantly.
